Sales Terms and Agreements in Simple Terms:
The Buyer agrees to the following terms and conditions:
Harrison Farms tests its herd yearly for CAE, CL, and Johne’s disease. Bucks will be tested for CM. Test results are available upon request. The farm works hard to maintain a clean and healthy environment by practicing strict biosecurity, quarantining any sick animals, and taking all reasonable steps to prevent the spread of disease.
A non-refundable deposit is required to hold any goat. The deposit amount is one-half of the listed purchase price unless stated otherwise for registered. Unregistered goats and wethers require full payment as a deposit. Deposits are non-refundable if the buyer backs out of the purchase, though transfers may be allowed depending on the situation.
All goats that are eligible for registration must be registered through the American Dairy Goat Association (ADGA) unless otherwise agreed upon. Buyers are responsible for submitting registration paperwork and paying any related fees. Once a goat leaves the farm, the breeder is not responsible for incomplete or unsubmitted registration paperwork. Any buckling leaving the farm as unregistered must be wethered before leaving the property.
All goats are disbudded unless they are naturally polled. Horned goats will not leave the farm. The farm cannot guarantee that scurs will not occur, as this is a natural risk with disbudding.
Goats are herd animals and require companionship. Buyers must already own goats or purchase more than one goat so that the animal does not live alone.
Prices are subject to change at any time without notice. Older does or bucks may be offered occasionally. Discounts may be offered at the breeder’s discretion but are not guaranteed.
Buyers must inform the breeder of their prior goat experience, current herd size, medications, supplements, vaccines, housing, and overall care practices. Buyers must have proper shelter, clean water, secure fencing, and adequate space before purchasing a goat.
Harrison Farms reserves the right to cancel a sale at any time. If the farm cancels the sale, all money paid will be refunded in full. If the buyer cancels the sale, the deposit remains non-refundable, though transfers may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
All sales are final unless a licensed veterinarian confirms a serious genetic or congenital defect. Deposits will be refunded for CM or congenital myotonia findings. If a goat becomes sick or passes away before pickup, the breeder may offer a replacement goat of equal value, a deposit transfer, or another solution at the breeder’s discretion.
Kidding reservations are not guaranteed and are free. However deposits may be made for reservations, the deposit is applied toward the final purchase price once a kid is selected. If a reservation cannot be fulfilled, the buyer may move the deposit to another kidding, transfer it to another available goat, receive a full refund, or accept another option determined by the breeder.
Buyers must pick up goats on the agreed-upon date. The farm is not responsible for the goat once it leaves the property. Goats must be picked up within fifteen days of the agreed pickup date or deposits and payments may be forfeited. International shipping is not offered. Transportation arrangements may vary depending on circumstances. Once the goat leaves the farm, all responsibility transfers to the buyer, and buyers are encouraged to quarantine new goats before introducing them to their herd.
If a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) or Scrapie Tag is required, the buyer is responsible for all associated fees. Any required CVI must be requested prior to pickup.
Any known health issues will be disclosed before purchase. No goat will leave the farm as unhealthy unless clearly stated and agreed upon by both parties.
This agreement becomes binding once a deposit or payment is made. Accepted forms of payment include cash, Venmo, CashApp, and PayPal. Checks are not accepted.
